listen to most music apart from metal and some rock? its all the same, In most songs I hear On the radio was the drum pattern I learned in my first months maybe just a little sped up and with the odd fill in.

He's not known as a soloist he's known for his melody. Look at Conflict or Enough. He writes beautiful stuff.

Sure though, Mike's solo may not be the most hardcore, fastest solo, but he is a pretty kick-ass drummer regardless, and AMAZING rhythm in my opinion
