Essen is a city in the central part of the Ruhr area in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. I am planning on visiting there perhaps in the summer but I am also wanting to finish my masters in the University of Duisberg-Essen. I think it would be great to know about the size of the english community there as well as any precautions that i should know of. Thanks

I used to live in Essen, I now live in the neighbour town Muelheim with my missus... Mate, seriously send me a message if you need anything.. I know all the best places for english speakers... English speaking churches, shops, food shops for people from the UK, like me, also for americans etc.
